Co-owners of Sandman Gourmet Catering In Columbus
Rich Rores, “The Sandman,” has an extensive culinary and business background. He holds a coveted Le Cordon Bleu degree from the Johnson and Wales University Culinary Arts Program as well as a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Restaurant Management from Niagara University in New York. Additionally, Mr. Rores has over twenty years of experience in the food service industry including management positions for Morrison’s, Inc. and hotel management for Winegardner and Hammons, Inc. His last position prior to opening Sandman Gourmet was General Manager of The Radisson Airport Hotel and Conference Center, now the Marriott Airport. He began Sandman Gourmet in 2003 with one deli and has grown the business to three deli locations and a flourishing catering business. Among other business ventures, Mr. Rores most recently became a managing partner at fine-dining establishment, Bel Lago, located overlooking the Hoover Reservoir. He resides in Galena with his wife and two sons.
Dawn Rores, co-owner of Sandman Gourmet, graduated from the University of Dayton with a marketing degree. She worked for several years in the hospitality industry and as a corporate trainer for several national restaurant franchise companies.
After many years spent honing their skills, Rich and his wife, Dawn, decided it was time for the Sandman to share his passion for great food in their own personalized way. They started Sandman Gourmet Catering in 2003 and have since built a large and varied client list including deli regulars, people who enjoy personal chef services and corporate clients.
